The size is guidance for a typical freeride kite. Check your model's published wind range, actual shore conditions and instructor judgement; offshore wind lowers the score regardless of strength.

What does the index mean, and why does it stop at 96?+

This is a condition-fit index, not a probability percentage and not a safety guarantee.

With a selected kite, the planner also checks power in average wind, gusts and lulls. Offshore wind, excessive gusts and rider-level limits cap the result.

For Russian points without a verified shore sector, the index is capped at 68/96 and means only a wind window for further checks. It is not a spot-safety assessment.

The ceiling of 96 is deliberate: the service cannot see launch obstacles, actual waves, equipment condition or the rider's condition. A score of 100 would look like a promise the system cannot make.

How to read the score: the 0–96 index is a transparent heuristic, not a statistical probability. It compares kite size, weight, rider level, wind and gusts, the shore's working sector and spread across three models. Days 1–3 are more useful; days 4–5 are guidance and days 6–7 are an early signal to recheck before travelling.
