Russian organised kite-spot cameras expanded to 12 verifiable sources

What is new on the map

The four Saint Petersburg sources are now joined by two Kaliningrad Region locations, four sources in southern Russia, the UBA centre on Lake Shartash and a public beach camera in Teriberka. Each location links to its map, spot card and the camera or station owner's page.

This is not a list of every beach where someone has ever launched a kite. A source was included only when it could be tied to a specific shore and an organisation, municipal page or stable public stream listing.

• Saint Petersburg: Dunes · TakeOff, Kite Piter, Lakhta and Fort Konstantin.
• Kaliningrad Region: Glaz Vetra station and Zelenogradsk municipal shore cameras.
• Southern Russia: Surf Hata on Bugaz Spit, Kazachiy Bereg on Dolzhanskaya Spit, Anapa and the Aviator station in Adler.
• Urals and North: UBA / Shartash and Teriberka public beach.

Camera, camera plus wind, and panorama are distinct source types

A camera helps inspect the water, visibility, precipitation and beach traffic. A camera-plus-wind link points to a station page that also publishes weather-station readings. An area panorama shows the general shore but is not represented as the exact launch.

Surf Hata on Bugaz Spit is the richest new source: its station page combines a stream with an on-site wind sensor. During verification, its API returned fresh average wind, gust and direction readings, kept separate from the model forecast.

Why some sources say recheck or temporarily offline

The number of links is not the number of guaranteed live streams. At the time of checking, 3 sources were marked online, 4 required a fresh check at the owner page and 5 were temporarily unavailable. We retain an exact offline source so that recovery can be monitored, but never present a placeholder as live video.

An open web page does not prove that its image is current. Check the image date and time, then compare it with an actual sensor and forecast.

How to use the expanded directory

Open Cameras, choose Russia and then a region. The service shows each source's type, status, check date and limitations. The country and spot pages link to the same camera and route.

A camera does not measure the wind or certify a safe launch. Check the forecast and a fresh sensor before travelling; on shore, reassess wind direction, gusts, storms, water, obstacles, traffic, rescue, equipment and your own condition.
